Dorothy Handy McNeely

Dorothy Handy McNeely, 90 passed away peacefully on Christmas Day, 2013 in the arms of her loving daughter, Deborah Lynn Dezember (John).

She was the former Dorothy Marie Curry, born in Green County, Kentucky to Euclid and Maude Risen Curry. She was a homemaker and beauty shop owner, a member of Ninth and O Baptist Church for over 60 years where she enjoyed singing in the choir, and attended Highview Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Morrison Curry; and husband, William R. McNeely.

Her funeral is 2pm Tuesday at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road with burial in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation is 3-7pm Monday.

Clarice Helen Arnett

Clarice Helen Arnett, 100, of Charlestown, passed away, Sunday , December 29, 2013 at Providence Retirement Home.

She was born on August 25, 1913 to William and Emma (Robertson) Houk in Green Co.,KY. She was a retired inspector for the old ICI Americas, and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Charlestown.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James, her son, Gleason Arnett, and a grandson, David Arnett.

Survivors include her sons, James Arnett (Carol) of Charlestown, IN, Michael Arnett (Barbara) of Port Orange, FL; daughter-in-law, Molane Arnett of Waynesburg, KY; grandchildren, Angela, Michael Lee, Erin, and Megan; great-grandchildren, Heather, Tiffany, Nathaniel, David Jr., and Andrew.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 1pm at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial in the Barnes Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 3pm to 8pm, and after 9am on Tuesday.

Family would like to thank Providence Retirement Home for the loving care she received while a resident.

IN MEMORY OF
Fletcher Henderson Lott

Fletcher Henderson Lott aka 'Sonny Lott' 72, a longtime Iowa City, Iowa musician and local legend peacefully left this earth on Thursday December 12, 2013 from a long battle with cancer. A memorial service was held Monday, December 16th from 5-7PM at Lensing Funeral Service in Iowa City, Iowa. There will also be a "Sonny Lott Memorial Jam" on December 27 at The Mill in Iowa City, Iowa at 7PM.

Fletcher lived in the Iowa City, Iowa area for over forty years, and played drums with many of the best bands in the area. He was mainly known as a rock steady drummer. Fletcher was also a fantastic vocalist, famous for his renditions of "Mustang Sally", "Stormy Monday" and the other classics. Perhaps his greatest gift was his ability to befriend practically everyone he met.

Fletcher was born in Louisville, KY October 17, 1941 to James Henderson Lott & Josie Groves-Lott who both preceded him in death, as well as a younger brother Donald Gene Lott, and his beloved son Tony. Fletcher lived his younger years in Greensburg, KY. Survivors include three daughters; Vikki Lott-Hoke, Rubi (Tina) Lott, Kim Lott, his former wife Gertrude Chambers, as well as nine grand children, numerous great grandchildren, his close cousin Mary Nell Williams of Greensburg, KY as well as a host of family on both the Lott & Groves side, his adopted family, The Hayward's of Iowa City, Iowa, and countless friends and fans. Fletcher was loved by many and will be missed dearly by his family & friends.

There will be no local services.  Burial will be in the Groves and Anderson Cemetery.  Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements

Mrs. Connie Jo Davis was born October 8, 1955 in Green County, KY to the late Morrison and Beatrice Bishop Curry.  She departed this life Thursday, December 26, 2013 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY, having attained the age of fifty-eight years, two months and eighteen days.

Connie had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist Faith.  She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband:  Tom Davis, five children:  Daniel and Serina Davis, Mikey Davis, Jeremiah Davis, Angie and Troy Mitchell and Ed Soto, all of Green County, five grandchildren: Olivia Cheyanne Davis, Thomas Adam Davis, Cody Armstrong, Dawson Mitchell and Devon Mitchell, one great grandchild:  Carson Armstrong, a special best friend:  Glenda Curry, plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Joe Mack Price was born December 31, 1931 in Green County, KY to the late Lee and Annie Skaggs Price.  He departed this life Thursday, December 19, 2013 at the Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, having attained the age of eighty-one years, eleven months and eighteen days.

Mr. Price had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Jesus Name Church in Campbellsville.  He was a United States Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a farmer.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death May 14, 2011 by his son:  Thomas "Bean" Price.  He is also preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters:  Paul, Shelby, Alfred and William Price, Virginia Vincent, Thelma Henderson, Lillie Toadvine, Mazie Chitwood and Mildred Kinder

Mary Ann Weaver 92, 782 Summersville Road, Greensburg, KY, died November 30, 2013 at the home of her daughter, John and Fannie Peachey, after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Wayne County, Ohio  on November 9, 1921 to the late Martin J. and Elizabeth (Keim) Hochstetler, and married Emery E. Weaver on January 14, 1943.  He died February 28, 1991.

She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.  Surviving are children, (Junior) Edna Yoder of Thompsontown, PA, Roy (Olive) Weaver of McAllisterville, PA, (John) Fannie Peachey of Rural Retreat, VA, (Abe) Betty Troyer of Beaver Springs, PA, Abe (Verna) Weaver of McClure, PA, Mel (Mary Ellen) Weaver of Heron, Montana, (Wayne) Verna Troyer of Lewistown, Montana, Martin (Erma) Weaver of Trout Creek, Montana and Aden Weaver of Lewistown, Montana, 48 grandchildren, 112 great grandchildren, a brother Jacob (Ann) Hochstetler of Orleans, Indiana, sister, Anna Miller of Fresno, Drussilla Weaver of McAllisterville, PA, and Iva Troyer of Apple Creek.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, five brothers and one son-in-law.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 4, 2013 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the James Troyer Residence.

Funeral services will be 9 a.m. Thursday, December 5, 2013 at the James Troyer Residence with Bishop John Troyer officiating.  Burial will be in the Van Wert  Cemetery in Mifflintown, PA

Mr. Robert Lee Barnett was born July 22, 1949 in Summersville to Marshall Lee Embry of Glasgow, KY and the late Edwina Barnett Beeler.  He departed this life Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the University of Louisville Hospital, having attained the age of sixty-four years, four months and eight days.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ at Jacob Grove Baptist Church and then became a  member of the Church of God.  Besides his mother he is preceded in death in 1983 by his son:  Donald Lee Barnett.  He worked for Nally & Gibson and then Nally & Haydon for 38 years.

Fanola Nell Whitlock DeSpain

Mrs. Fanola Nell Whitlock DeSpain was born December 3, 1917 in Green County, KY to the late Robert Marion Whitlock and Bertha Everett Mouser Whitlock.  She departed this life Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the Taylor Regional Medical Center in Campbellsville, having attained the age of ninety-five years, eleven months and twenty-seven days.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church.  Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Thomas DeSpain.  She graduated from Lindsey Wilson College and started teaching at Liletown in 1936. She received her BS degree from Western Kentucky Normal School in 1948 with a secondary certificate.  She retired from teaching in 1982.  She was initiated into the Order of the Eastern Star in September 1955.  She served as Worthy Grand Matron in 1968-1969.

She is survived by several nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of friends.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist Faith.  Besides her parents, she is preceded in death May 13, 2011 by her son, Ronnie Dowell.  She is also preceded in death by one brother:  Robert Lile and two sisters:  Shielda Bailey and Virginia Campbell.

Mrs. Dowell is survived by her husband Ralph Dowell, two sons and one daughter-in-law:  Joey Dowell of Green County, Donnie and Tammy Dowell of Trevorton, Pennsylvania and one daughter and son-in-law:  Sherry and Chris Ervin of Edmonton.  She is also survived by one sister:  Devona Wiggins of Florida, eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Coleman "Rabbit" Williams

Mr. Coleman "Rabbit" Williams was born on January 11, 1935 in Black Gnat, KY to the late Gladys and Dan Williams.

He went home to be with his Lord and Jesus Christ on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Elizabethtown, KY at the age of 78.

Coleman confessed his belief in Christ at an early age.  He worked for Kroger for 32 years, before retiring.  His passion was farming.

He was united in marriage in 1961 to Mary Nell Groves Williams.  Besides his wife Mary, he is survived by four sons:  Coleman "Bud" Williams, Jr., Derrick Lee Ferman (Ebony), Vevon Hughes (Kim), Curtis Williams and four daughters:  Betty Jean Ramos, Anita Keith (Norman), Myra Duncan and Devon Scales (Jermaine), grandchildren:  Cameron, Trey, Jayce, Kaitlyn, Donovan, Devyn, Davis, Nevaeh, Kenley, Tymeshia, several great-grandchildren, one sister:  Nancy  Lee Bailey , three sisters-in-law:  Ollie Williams, Helen Williams and Josie Williams, two aunts:  Claudette Vaughn Hopkins and Jeannie Vaughn, plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.  Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers and one sister:  Clarence Wesley Williams, Walter Williams, Pauline Young, David Lloyd Williams and Harlon Dan Williams, Jr.

Mr. Matney had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Mormon Faith.  He was a United States Army Veteran, serving during World War II.  He was a member of the James L. Pruitt VFW Post 5813, Greensburg, KY.  He was a tree topper and a farmer.  Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Elsie Lile Matney, three sons and two daughters-in-law:  Arnold W. and Shirley Matney of Greensburg, KY, Alvin C. and Kaye Matney of Sulphur Well, KY and Benny Matney of Metcalfe Co., KY, one daughter and son-in-law:  Norma L. and Wayne Keltner of Vine Grove, KY.  He is also survived by two sisters:  Lois Houk and Ellen Houk, both of Greensburg, KY, one sister-in-law:  Laverne Lile of Greensburg, KY, seven grandchildren:  Glenda Harlow, Regina Vincent, Marty Matney, Angela Judd, Alvin Dean Matney, Monica Shirley and Josh Matney, eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Michael Carter, age 54 of Louisville, KY passed away on September 16, 2013.  He was employed with ECM.

Michael was born on January 29, 1959 in Louisville, KY to Vernon "Pete" Carter of Campbellsville, KY and the late Carolyn Gowan Carter.  Besides his mother, he is preceded in death by his sister:  Shannon Renee' Davis.

He is survived by his wife:  Star Duncan Carter, two sons:  David Ray Carter and Jonathan Kenney Carter (Samantha), brother:   Kenneth Ray Carter, eight grandsons and one granddaughter, and a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY  40272).  The funeral service will be held Thursday at 12:30 p.m., at the Newcomer Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Gowan Cemetery in the Grab Community of Green County.  Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home is in charge of the local arrangements.

Mr. Voris Wilson Whitlock was born January 2, 1925 in Green County, KY to the late Steward and Lelia Mills Whitlock.  He departed this life Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at the Campbellsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility, having attained the age of eighty-eight years, eight months and nine days.

Voris had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Community Baptist Church.  He had taught Sunday School for sixty years.  He was owner and operator of Whitlock and Sons Grocery. He was a Green County Constable for many years.   He was a United States Army Veteran, serving during World War II.  He was a member and former Chaplain of the James L. Pruitt VFW Post 5813, Greensburg, KY.  Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother:  Vontryce Whitlock, and three sisters:  Maxine Bagby, June Wilgus and Theresa Bates.

He is survived by his wife Geraldine Baker Whitlock, one son and daughter-in-law:  Rodney and Cheryl Whitlock of Campbellsville and one daughter and son-in-law:  Beverly and Mike Creek of Bowling Green.  He is also survived by one sister:  Treva Hopkins of Shepherdsville and one grand-daughter and her husband:  Angela and Scotty Alexander of Bowling Green.

Johnson, four sisters:  Ruby Chester, Loretta Trogdon, Mary Miracle and Alpha Johnson and one step-son:  Jessie Elmore.

Mrs. Scott had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Aetna Grove Baptist Church. She was a retired school bus driver for the Green County School System.  She was united is marriage May 27, 1944 to Edward L. Scott, who preceded her in death January 9, 2001.  Besides her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by one brother and one sister:  Bernie "Buddy" Wright and Judelle Smith.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Summershade Methodist Church.  Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Kenny Shelton, one son:  Charles (Choppy) Jeffries and grandson:  Dallas Patterson.  Her two girls, grandchildren and a close friend were with her at the time of her passing.

She is survived by one son:  Phillip H. Jeffries of Campbellsville and two daughters and one son-in-law:  Tammie Sue and Russell Bugg of Springfield and Melinda Jeffries and her companion Finis Milby of Greensburg.  She is also survived by one brother:  Billy Squires of Lawrenceburg, KY, one nephew:  Billy Mike Squires of Greensburg,  twelve grandchildren, four step grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren.

William "Bill" Eugene Clark was born January 14, 1930 in Green County, Kentucky to the late Rollin B. Clark and Alta Leftwich Clark.  He departed this life Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the Norton Hosparus In-Patient Care Center in Louisville, KY, having attained the age of eighty-three years, three months and twenty-three days.

Mr. Clark had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Presbyterian Church.  He was a United States Army Veteran of  the Korean War.  He was founder and owner of Clark Casual Furniture in Greensburg with a satellite plant near Tampa, Florida.

He was united in marriage March 12, 1952 to Helen Mitchell Moore Clark, who survives.  He is survived by four daughters and two sons-in-law:  Amanda Clark of Portland, Oregon, Amy Clark (Patrick White) of Birmingham, Michigan, Ann Clark of Louisville, KY, Abbe Clark Volz (Alex) of Santa Monica, California, five grandchildren:  Matthew Mitchell Clark Matteri, Christopher William Clark Matteri, Elizabeth Noel Clark Matteri, Charles Michael Clark White and Christian Andrew Clark White, two granddogs:  Ginger and Griffin Clark, plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Gertrude Marcum Vance, age 96 of Nicholasville, KY, formerly from Summersville, KY  was born in Green County September 9, 1916, daughter of the late Walter and Kate Marcum.  She died Sunday, April 28, 2013 at the Hospice Care Center, St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington, KY after a long illness.

She was united in marriage October 11, 1940 to Creswell Vance, who preceded her in death November 8, 1983.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Vance Thompson and son-in-law, Art Thompson of Nicholasville, KY, special friends, Lohmann and Leslie Sidebottom of Nicholasville, KY and Lisa Lemire of Lexington, KY, also caregivers and friends throughout the past 4 years, JoAnn Goss, Georgia Mae Locker and Barbara Estepp, and a beloved granddog, Baylee.  She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mayme Milby and Nancy Dyer and two special granddogs, Boomer and Bandee.

She was a teacher in Green County, KY, retiring in 1981 after 40 years of teaching.  She was a member of the American Legion Rod Lowe Post 124 Ladies Auxiliary, Greensburg, KY, the Jessamine County Retired Teachers Association and was a Kentucky Colonel.

She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, Green County and attended Central Baptist Church, Lexington, KY for many years.

Mr. Edward "Bus" Anthony Haney, a former Green County Resident, was born September 17, 1923 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, one of six children, to the late William Edward Haney and Francena Carl Haney.  After a short battle with cancer, he departed this life Saturday, April 27, 2013 at his home in Hardyville, KY, having attained the age of eighty-nine years, seven months and ten days.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Methodist Church.  He served during World War II as a Corporal under General Patton at the Battle Of The Bulge in the Medical Corp and was honorably discharged on Christmas Day, 1945, after time served.  He was then employed by National Tube in McKeesport, where he worked from 1946 until his retirement in 1984.  He was a member of the American Legion Rob Lowe Post 124, Greensburg, KY.  Besides his parents he is preceded in death by three sisters:  Rita, Bernadine and Ethel and one brother:  Robert.

He is survived by his wife Alice Caye Haney, three daughters:  Kathy Haney Wheeler of Hardyville, Rene' Forbes of Greensburg and Cheryl Kretzler of Campbellsville and one son:  Roy Nock of Elizabeth, Pennsylvania.  He is also survived by one sister:  Elizabeth Ross of Maryland and nine grandchildren:  Christina, Jennifer, Joshua, Matthew, David, Andrew, Jeffrey, Jessica and Brian, one great granddaughter, Emily, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and extended families.

Mrs. May had made a profession of faith in Christ and was of the Baptist Faith.  She was a former sales manager at a shoe store in Bardstown KY.  Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband:  Roy E. May,  five brothers and five sisters:  Eddie, Henry, Hudson, Robert and Paul Whitehouse, Alma Ellis, Louise Karnes, Donna Able, Mamie Hood and Helen.

She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law:  Gary and Betsey May of Washington, Connecticut and Freddie May of Campbellsville, KY and one daughter and son-in-law:  Coleen and Henry Fulks of Bardstown, KY, plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Howard had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Fry Baptist Church.  He was a member of the Greensburg Masonic Lodge # 54 F & AM, Kosair Shriners, Greensburg Order of the Eastern Star #232, Lebanon Council, Marion Commandry and the Scottish Rite 32nd Degree.  He loved farming.  Beside his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Margarette Alice Morgan Curry, and two brothers:  James H. Curry and Robert Lynn Curry.

He is survived by three brothers, one sister and five  sisters-in-law:  Harlan and Jo Curry of Greensburg, Jodie and Barbara Curry and Gilbert and Janice Curry of Edmonton, Jean Keltner of Greensburg, Elizabeth Curry of Rineyville and Ruthie Keltner of Greensburg.

Mr. James Roy Milby was born April 17, 1927 in Green County, KY to the late N.C. and Sarah Lee Madden Milby.  He departed this life Monday, March 18, 2013 at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY, having attained the age of eighty-five years, eleven months and one day.

Mr. Milby had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Brush Creek Baptist Church.  He was a United States Navy Veteran serving during World War II, a member of the James L. Pruitt Post 5813 Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Rod Lowe Post 124  American Legion Greensburg, KY.  He was a farmer.

He was united in marriage to Lillian Warren Milby, who preceded him in death.  He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law:  Ranny Dale and Rita Milby of Greensburg, KY, David and Patty Milby of Knoxville, Tennessee and Gary Gene and Linda Milby of Greensburg, KY and two daughters and one son-in-law:  Nancy Vaughn of Campbellsville, KY and Jackie and Sam Dicken of Nicholasville, KY.  He is also survived by two sisters:  Dixie Marcum and Alvie Morrison of Summersville, KY, one sister-in-law:  Athol Milby of Summersville, KY, ten grandchildren, five step grandchildren, six great grandchildren, eleven step great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, a special caregiver:  H.L. Shofner, plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Roxie A. Stone, age 87 of 111 Riverview Drive, Greensburg passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 6:30 a.m.

Mrs. Stone was born in Lewis County, KY October 1, 1925 to the late Ace and Margaret Hall Renchen.

She worked for the U.S. Shoe Company in Vanceburg and also in Coldwater, Michigan.  She was a member of the Hilltop Tabernacle Church.  Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband George Stone, two sons:  Jerry Penrod and Mitchell Liles, four brothers:  James, Melvin, Buster and Fred Renchen, three sisters:   Bell Renchen, Evelyn Fetters and Mary Horsley and a half sister:  Nina Hall.

She is survived by one son:  Ralph Penrod of Greensburg, KY, five sisters:  Louise Zornes of Vanceburg, KY, Edith Eulett and Ellen McNally, both of Leesburg, Florida, Dorothy Trapp of Reading, Ohio and Berthie Stone of Mansfield, Ohio, several grandchildren,  many great grandchildren, plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Kurt Jeffries was born January 17, 1935 in Green County, KY to the late Mike and Lee Brown Beard Jeffries.  He departed this life Friday, March 8, 2013 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, KY, having attained the age of seventy-eight years, one month and twenty-one days.

Kurt had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Liletown United Methodist Church.  He retired from Greensburg Manufacturing and was a farmer.  He was a United States Army Veteran.  He was united in marriage June 11, 1960 to Phyllis Ann Price Jeffries, who preceded him in death December 17, 2008.  He is also preceded in death by two brothers:  Lloyd L. Jeffries and Kenneth Jeffries.

He is survived by one brother and sister-in-law:  Keith and Regina Jeffries of Pierce, two sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law:  Lillian Davis and Alice Frances and David Miller, all of Campbellsville and Gary Price of Greensburg, a special friend:  Blake Thompson of Pierce, 3 nephews:  Phillip and Alda Ree Jeffries, Kevin and Emily Jeffries and Cager Jeffries, four other nephews and four nieces, plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Weldon Ray Riggs was born September 20, 1945 in Taylor County, KY to the late Richard and Sindy White Riggs.  He departed this life Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at the Signature Health Care in Taylorsville, KY, having attained the age of sixty-seven years, five months and fifteen days.

He was a former carpet installer.  Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother and two sisters:  Orville Riggs, LouAnn Turner and Donnie Riggs.

Mr. Riggs is survived by one son and daughter-in-law:  Weldon and Tiffiany Riggs and Natessa and Kevin Jones, all of Campbellsville, two grandsons:  Preston Riggs and Hayden Jones, two brothers:  Charles and Elroy Riggs of Campbellsville and one sister:  Elaine Harrison of Shelbyville, plus a host of other relatives and friends.

The family chose cremation.  There will be no services.

Loretta Cox Edwards was born April 6, 1933 in Green County, Kentucky to the late Guy Wesley and Adele Foster Cox.  She departed this life March 4, 2013 at her home in Green County, Kentucky, having attained the age of seventy-nine years, ten months and twenty-eight days.

Loretta had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member and former Sunday School Teacher at the Greensburg Baptist Church.  She was also a homemaker who loved her family.  Loretta was an active member of the Green County Democratic Women's Club for many years.  Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-eight years O.C. "Buck" Edwards, and an infant daughter, Pamela Kay Edwards.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law:  Steve and Camellia Edwards and Richard and Savona Edwards, all of Green County, and Tony and Sharon Edwards of Lawrenceburg;  five grandchildren, Misty Nicole Edwards, Jamie Edwards Judd, Derek Steven Edwards, Blake Allen Edwards and Zachary McLane Edwards;  and three great-grandchildren, Bryson Thomas Edwards, Landon Matthew Judd and Brady Clark Edwards, special caregivers, Peggy Patterson and Ruby Diane Smith, plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Mary Elizabeth "Susie" White was born January 6, 1925 in Green County, KY to the late Sam Alvea White and El Dora Judd White.  She departed this life Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at the Golden Living Center-Green Hill, Greensburg, KY, having attained the age of eighty-eight years, one month and thirteen days.

Susie had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Ladies Chapel United Methodist Church.  She was a cook at the Green Hill Nursing Home for 28 years, 4 months and twenty-four days, as she was often heard to say.   Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters:  Bob, Pete, Joe, Drew and Wilson "Dad" White, Esther Milby, Betty White, Easer Patterson and Rener White.

She was a mother to Vicky Robbins  and Glenda Turner and many, many more.  She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Vernon Eugene Bagby was born December 11, 1940 in Green County, KY to the late Beckham and Lela Acree Bagby.  He departed this life Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, KY, having attained the age of seventy-two years, one month and thirteen days.

Vernon had made a profession of faith in Christ and served as deacon, trustee and held other various positions at the Greensburg Baptist Church.  He was a former Green County Judge and Funeral Director and Embalmer at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home.  Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers and one sister:  James, Ellis and Rupert Bagby and Dimple Mosz.

He was united in marriage to Elva Jo Rodgers Bagby, who survives.  He is survived by one brother and sister-in-law:  Jr. and Clydene Bagby and one sister:  Lassie Schmidt and brother-in-law:  Eugene Mosz all of Campbellsville, KY and two sister-in-laws:  Billie Bagby of Colorado and Shirley Bagby of Greensburg, KY.   He is also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law:  Kenneth and Naomi Ruth Rodgers of Campbellsville and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law:  Jerry Wayne and Anita Rodgers of Campbellsville, plus a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Bryant was of the Baptist Faith.  He was a United States Army Veteran, serving during the Vietnam Conflict.  He was retired farmer.

Max E. Calhoun

Max E. Calhoun, age 56, husband of Jeanna Calhoun, did Wed. Jan. 9, 2013.  Born Sept. 2, 1956 in Green County, KY, he was the son of the late Frank Calhoun, Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Gartin Calhoun.   Mr. Calhoun was a production team leader for Toyota for 25 years and a member of the Second Baptist Church in Greensburg, KY.  He was a motorcycle and car enthusiast, enjoying auto body work and belonging to the Gold Wing Road Riders Association.  Survivors other that his wife include two children:  Kim Calhoun (Kenyon), Max Calhoun, Jr.:  six stepchildren:  Jonathan Cox, Jade Blanton, Teresa Mitchell, Denise Underwood, Missy Orberson and Ray Sherrill:  grandchildren, Kenya, Kenden, Colton, Jeremy, Jessica, Michael, Amber, Timmy, Chryslee, Matt, Ryan, Austin;  one great grandchild, Taylor,  Brothers and sisters:  Beverly, Terry (Shonny), Lynn, Eric, Cecil, Frankie, Mark and Andre (Patricia) Calhoun;  and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 4 - 8 p.m. CST Sat. at the Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg.  A second visitation will be held 12 - 5 p.m. Sunday with a 5 p.m. service at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Road, Lexington with Jeremy Taylor and Rev. Andre Calhoun officiating.
